ECO Club – Grow your own chips!

Eco Club had the pleasure to be invited to take part in “Grow your own chips!” scheme run by Squires garden centre. Squire’s believe it’s so important that children learn where their food comes from through a fun and interactive potato planting sessions. 

Each child was given a brightly coloured pot, compost, and three chitted potatoes, which they were shown how to plant and look after. The children got to take their pot of potatoes home. They will take their pots back to Squire’s in June to see who has grown the heaviest potatoes. Their potatoes will be turned into chips in Squire’s Café Bar for the children to enjoy. Delicious!
