Chartwell National Trust Visit
Today Year 5 and 6 had visitors from Chartwell National Trust. They give us an ‘object handling storytelling’ workshop on Winston Churchill. At first we had an interesting assembly and we learnt several new facts about Winston Churchill and his life.
After assembly we had the workshop in our class room and we had 3 activities. The first activity was about his ‘special box’. We had to guess what he used the box for. I thought it was for storing his painting equipment but he kept his speeches in there.
During the second activity we were in pairs and we were given some special objects to learn about.
The third activity was about a trophy Winston Churchill got given, it was a cannon.
We had to make up some similes about the cannon and make a poem called the kran.
We learned new facts and it was fun.
