Year 7 Football Team Win 11-1
Match Report: 23/01/2019, KO 3pm
The Year 7 Quest Academy football team ran out convincing winners in their home league match against St Joseph’s B, on a freezing afternoon in Selsdon.
Goals from Carlo Beckford and Nathan Nutakor as well as hat-tricks for Rizgar Bedir, Alfie Paine and Subby Noiki ensured a convincing 11-1 victory.
From the first minute, Year 7 showed exactly why they have been gaining praise across Croydon borough, with some slick passing football and some lovely early team goals to settle the nerves. Going in at half-time 5-0 up, it was important Quest did not let up and continued to perform as they had done in the first half. St Joseph’s did manage to nick a consolation goal in the second half after an unlucky own goal from a Quest player, but Quest continued to dominate and build upon their impressive start to secondary school football with a relentless second half performance.
A special mention must go to the defence also who were fantastic throughout the whole game and were unlucky not to keep a clean sheet. Oscar Moor was outstanding at the back leading the line with his tough tackling, fantastic passing and important leadership qualities. Mathew Harvey and Jayden Bakarey who replaced the injured Zak Walker in the 1st half, were also extremely impressive and should be proud of their performance. George Ramses in goal was his reliable self and was always on hand to clean up any danger when needed in his sweeper keeper role.
Quest played with a real team spirit, encouraging and supporting each other throughout the game, something Mr Wilder was very impressed with.
This leaves the Year 7 team unbeaten in 4 games and with a real chance of winning a league and cup double!
Keep up the good work boys there is some real talent in this team. See you at training!
