On Wednesday 3rd July, Mr Bevan and Mr Wilder took 29 students from years 7, 8 and 9 to watch the first day of the West Indies v a First-Class Counties Select XI in a tour match at The County Ground in Beckenham.

We had the opportunity to watch some of the best players in the world such as West Indies’ Captain Kraigg Brathwaite and Jason Holder.

The West Indies batted first and built a strong total as the students enjoyed watching a barrage of 4s and 6s throughout the day. They sampled the delights of the food vans ticking into pizza, chips and burgers and collected autographs from the players.

Some of the students were particularly excited to meet, take photos with and collect the autographs of England legend Graeme Swann and West Indies legend Jimmy Adams who were coaching their respective teams.

We had a great day; the students were impeccably behaved and we look forward to the opportunity to do it again in the future.
