As part of the Community Action Enrichment sessions, Hillary House hosted a bake/snack sale and a guess the number of sweets in the jar competition to raise money for Lives not Knives.

On the 15th May the students in Hillary came together to raise money for Lives Not Knives, a charity that aims to prevent knife crime and support those affected by it. The event was a fun-filled competition, where participants had to guess the number of sweets in a jar. Participants were given a chance to guess the number of sweets in the jar, with the closest guess winning the prize. The competition was fierce, with many participants submitting their guesses.

We had three winners; Logan – 8L2, Harith – 8H2 and Oliver – 7H1 who all guessed the correct number – 413.

On Wednesday 22nd May, the Bake and Snack Sale was held under the canopy after school, with a variety of tasty treats on offer. The aroma of freshly baked goods wafted through the air, enticing customers to come and try some of the yummy offerings. From classic cakes and cookies to sweet treats and savoury snacks, there was something for everyone.

The event was well-organised, with volunteers expertly managing the sale and keeping everything running smoothly.

Both events were hugely successful, with over £70 raised for Lives Not Knives. The funds raised will go towards supporting the charity’s vital work in preventing knife crime and supporting those affected by it.
