On Wednesday 17th and Thursday 18th July, the year 7s got their first taste of Geography fieldwork with a trip to Brighton!

The students travelled by train to Brighton where the first part of the day they  conducted fieldwork with students were investigating the positive and negative impacts of tourism in Brighton. Some of the fieldwork they completed were pedestrian flow counts, traffic surveys, land use surveys, environmental quality survey and questionnaires.

The students really engaged in the different techniques and even asking members of the public their opinions! Once this was completed, students had time in the afternoon to go to the arcade, try out a few rides and grab a bite to eat (that is if the seagulls didn’t steal their food!)
