At Riddlesdown College VI, we boast a plethora of sporting opportunities, offering a diverse range of activities spanning from volleyball to cricket. Among our most sought-after sports are football, cricket, basketball, badminton, and volleyball. The school fosters an environment conducive to participation in these sports, facilitating both existing students and new joiners in cultivating friendships through the power of sport.

Recently, our Year 12s played a pair of friendly cricket matches against Wallington Grammar School. Despite experiencing defeat in both encounters, our focus remains not on the outcome, but on the exemplary sportsmanship and overarching ethos displayed by our team. Notably, Zara claimed Riddlesdown Sixth Form’s maiden wicket, marking a historic moment for our cricketing debuts. In addition, Kieran conveyed the utmost determination having never before indulged in cricket and taking a breath-taking catch – demonstrating people of all levels of experience can get involved. Although the results were not in our favour, we look forward to more fixtures in the future anticipating the growth of the team.

In our first game against Wallington Grammar, we exhibited exceptional teamwork, exemplified by the motivational leadership of our captain, Godwin. Throughout the match, our fielding demonstrated our unwavering enthusiasm, consistently motivating and uplifting one another. Despite the setback, our resolve remains unshaken, evident in our spirited performance during the away fixture. Here, we witnessed a marked improvement, tripling our runs tally from the previous encounter, a testament to our unwavering determination and relentless pursuit of progress.
