Speak Out Challenge
A group of our Year 10 students took part in the Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge. The workshops provided specialist communication skills training to young people, by Speakers Trust trainers. The aim was to build confidence and create a platform for young people to share their stories and ideas to empower themselves and one another. Students covered a range of topic including community, identity, immigration in their final speeches.
One of the day’s staff coordinators Mr Walker stated, “As a teacher of many of these students, it was inspiring to see such a different side to their interests and talents. Every student was able to create, perform and reflect at an incredibly high level about some really advanced topics, and it was an amazing example of what students can do at Riddlesdown.”
