On Wednesday 10th and Thursday 11th November, Maths students in Year 12 and 13 took part in the annual Senior Maths Challenge. The Senior Maths Challenge is a 90-minute, multiple-choice Challenge which encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems.

We are very pleased to announce that of the 120 students who took part:

  • 45 received the Bronze award, scoring 49+,
  • 18 received the Silver award, scoring 66+,
  • and 4 received the Gold award, scoring 85+,

Congratulations to all our students who took part, but a particular well done to Matthew Ferriman (scoring 106), Max Short (scoring 90), Matias Van der Heijden (scoring 95) and Silvia Gelina (scoring 111) who all went on to compete in the next round – the Senior Kangaroo Challenge. This took place on Thursday 2nd December, and we look forward to seeing the results of this very soon!
