Outstanding Independence in Mathematics – Year 8 Orion

Congratulations to Harry Burns, Naia Chugh, Kaya Marie Kabyanga, Jacob Nockles, Toby Carpenter, Tristan Shaw and Ameli Holland who were recognised this week for showing outstanding independence in Mathematics.

The students were set a task of researching a topic called surds.

Surds is one of the most difficult GCSE Mathematics topics, yet these Year 8 Orion students showed great enthusiasm and skill in completing this project. Some made pamphlets with detailed explanations on the key aspects of surds, while others demonstrated their new-found understanding by completing online assignments on Mathswatch, achieving some exceptional scores.
