Election fever gripped Riddlesdown on 4th July 2024 when a Mock Election was held for all students in the Collegiate.

The Mock Election saw the Labour Party win with a 25% share of the vote, again securing their winning streak at Riddlesdown Collegiate; this was, however, somewhat expected due to the party’s popularity among the youngest in society.

Nigel Farage’s Reform UK Party captured the hearts of many, securing 24.6% of the votes. On the other hand, it was the minority parties that stole the show, as the Greens and Liberal Democrats saw a huge increase in their vote shares from the Mock Election in 2019.

These outcomes made a clear statement that British politics is moving away from a two-party contest.
