Courtwood’s World Book Day celebrations were all focused around vocabulary. Children and teachers had a great time dressing up as their favourite word!

The day started with a ‘word parade’ in the hall and the children then spent the rest of the day celebrating all things word related in the classroom. The children enjoyed teaching each other new words and each year group created a class dictionary.

At the end of the day parents joined their children to play word games such as Scrabble and Boggle!

All of the children and families had made a huge effort with their costumes and the teachers were really impressed with the variety of words the children had come up with.

The children had a great day learning new and exciting vocabulary – Ask your child what words they can remember!
