On a soggy Tuesday morning, 16 children from Years 1 & 2 took part in the annual Cross Country event at Lloyd Park, run by Croydon Sports. For some children, this was their first time running in the event and feelings of butterflies and excitement were in the air. All of the children started and finished the races with no falls! Their little legs ran as fast as they could and all of the children finished the race with smiles on their faces. A special mention goes to Connor Walsh (Year 1) for finishing 15th out of 112 boys, Sydney Baker (Year 2) for finishing 12th out of 123 girls and Ethan-James Anyaeji for finishing an amazing 5th out of the Year 2 boys, for the second time running!

Back to Lloyd Park Courtwood went in the afternoon for the Year 3&4 runners. The grass was getting extremely slippery by now and the conditions were a little trickier, especially at the start line. However, as always our Courtwood runners performed brilliantly and we had some great results. A special mention goes to the Year 4 boys who, for the second year running finished with amazing individual positions. Liam Catlin for finishing 27th, Spencer Lockwood for finishing 14th and Logan Pratt for finishing in 8th place! We are still waiting or the confirmed results for school positions but we have high hopes for our Year 4 runners. Well done to all our competitors. Another great year of Cross Country.
